Hazardous Materials Technician for Law Enforcement Personnel

This program meets 29 CFR1910.120 (q)(6)(iii) and is geared for Law Enforcement Personnel who have responsibilities to respond to Hazardous Material Emergencies To Collect Hazardous Evidence Or Collect Evidence In A Hazardous Environment. Utilizing our proprietary RAPID HazMat response model, this class will focus on Incident Management, Rescue, Assessment - Chemical Behavior - Weapons of Mass Destruction, PPE Selection, Evidence Collection, and Decontamination.

Prerequisites:

• Students shall be medically cleared to wear a respirator in compliance with 29CFR1910.134(e) and perform the functions of a hazardous materials technician in compliance with 29CFR1910.120(f).
• Students shall be trained in the use of and fit tested for their SCBA. Students may take a two-day SCBA certification class with FCSS, which will include the operation and use of the SCBA as well as fit testing.
